Red Carpet Gala event

Red Carpet Gala Event and £1000 raised literary at the drop of a hat!

A great night was had by all who attended on Friday night, over 200 people came to the Red Carpet Gala Event which was held at the Middleton Masonic Hall. Special guests included Rochdale’s lord mayor and Labour MP Liz Mcinnes. In additional to the recognition of all the fantastic work conducted by local volunteers, £1000 was raised for the Lee Rigby foundation by the simple but effective introduction of Martin Lynches Magic hat! Martins hat has become famous throughout the local area and has raised hundreds of thousands of pounds for various causes to help local famalies and charities. Lee Rigbys family was also present at the event and Lee’s stepfather even took a few moments on the microphone to give an update on how the money raised is spent. 100% of all monies raised for The Lee Rigby foundation goes into support and advice for bereaved families and support for injured veterans, including those suffering with PTSD., none of the money raised is used to pay staff, which is an amazing achievement by its’ self and demonstrates the hard work and commitment of everyone involved. The award certificate for the volunteers is shown below, and naturally, after the awards, it was food and a stint of dancing! Thank you to everyone who attended, your work makes a real and lasting difference to so many local people.
